Bluetit

The Bluetit has always symbolised the arrival of spring for me, and their presence in my garden never fails to bring excitement. As the pale green leaves begin to form an emerald halo over stark, black branches, and the delicate white blossoms soften the harshness of the blackthorn, I find myself enchanted by nature’s transformation. On an otherwise gloomy morning during the Easter holidays, while dealing with my children’s bickering over Lego, the cheerful sight and gentle chirping of a pair of Bluetits brought an unexpected shift in my mood. My frustration melted away, replaced by a deep appreciation for the beauty surrounding me and the joyful chaos of my family. In that moment, the Bluetits became a reminder of the wonders of nature and the light that can break through even the most challenging days.

I meticulously paint the original image in gouache; I try to capture the bird's intricate details and vibrant colours. The Giclée print is reproduced from the original painting and is created on xpression textured 300gsm archival paper, ensuring that the quality and texture enhance the visual depth of the image. Each print is unique; I apply gold leaf by hand, adding a distinctive touch that reflects my artistic process. This handcrafted approach means that no two prints are ever exactly the same, making each piece a truly original work of art infused with my personal touch.
