Every Image Tells a Story

We all live our lives through stories, the ones we experience first hand, the ones we tell ourselves, and the ones we fall in love with. These stories ultimately define us as individuals. Every painting I create is made because I have had a connection with the subject at some point in my life; making the painting solidifies the story into a concrete visual thing: a snapshot of feeling.

With this series of birds and insects, I have created images that symbolise a moment, an emotion and a memory. They are inherently beautiful because they are inspired by nature; but they also contain a beauty stemming from the positive impact each subject has had upon me as a human and an artist.

Each subject is surrounded by a halo of gold, an element that not only represents opulence and light but also stability. We wear gold because it does not react with the chemicals we encounter in our everyday activities. For me it is a symbol of security and permanence; the concept that ideas and emotions not only have longevity but also POWER!
